I get my chores done and out of the way as quickly as possible. I will usually do them when I get off work so that I can relax on my days off and not have anything hanging over my head.

I've changed jobs a year and a half ago. I was at my last job for 15 and a half years. There were quite a few people that were surprised when I left my previous company because I had been with them for so long.

I can't say that I learned anything new recently. Not that I can think of. I wouldn't mind learning a new language but I haven't found the motivation to do so.

@1stop said in What is one skill you would like to learn or improve in the future?: I very much want to get into public speaking. Being an introvert by nature, I usually find it hard to put myself out there in groups and express my thoughts or opinions. I was painfully shy as a kid and had a hard time when talking to one on one to people much less get up in front of a crowd. When I got to high school, it got a little easier. By that time, I was forced to get up in front of a crowd and give speeches so that kinda helped me to get over the shyness a little bit. I still don't like getting up in front of a crowd, I'll admit, but if I have enough time to prepare myself for the occasion and have all my facts straight then I make it a little less uncomfortable.

I figured it would but I figured it would be ages before it came around and started making an impact on our lives.

I don't even know what NaNoWriMo is. But....some places just shut down because they make a bad choice (or they've made several bad choices) that resulted in loss of business. Once business is lost, it is hard to get it back.

I can listen to just about anything but Country. That's the one thing that I don't listen to.

I think that's what's going on. They put so much pressure on standardized tests and whatnot that they forget that there are more important things. Like helping students learn something important that could help them on later in life.

I normally like to spend the holiday hanging around with family. If I can't, then I enjoy just being at home with my hubby and the cat. It's nice and peaceful that way.

@JoshB said in Console versus PC?: This is very true as eventually a console will become obsolete within 2 or 3 generations. You could eventually offload it to a store that deals in older game consoles. I've done that before. I have a Nintendo 3DS and I've gotten rid of my GameBoy's since I don't play them anymore. They were all still in good working order.

Well, I'd be going right before Halloween. Maybe they'd have a Halloween theme going on when I visited. Who knows.

I work out in public a lot so it's hard to avoid other people that may or may not be sick. That's probably why I use hand sanitizer a lot and wash my hands a lot. I should probably eat a little healthier though.

I've read the Lord of the Rings trilogy but it's been some time. I haven't read any of his other stuff though. Just the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings.

@flower said in Go to the doctor?: I'm definitely a preventive-care person. I generally go for a regular check-up every six months to a year, depending on my health needs. I've learned that early detection of possible concerns has a huge, positive effect on my well-being. I try to do this as well. I see my primary care doctor at least every six months.....so I can talk to her about stuff if there is anything that is on my mind. It's nice to be able to do that before something becomes a problem.
