Hello world! TubeFree.org is our first platform to help folks break the shackles of Big Tech! It is now open for registration. Currently folks can register, but can not upload. TubeFree.org is a moderated instance and we'll have specific guidelines for folks to upload videos.

As this is backed by a nonprofit we'll need everyone's help in funding this. I am investigating pay for resources, but we'll have to come back to that in the future. Please message me here, using the contact form on tubefree.org or email us at btfree@btfree.org for questions/comments/interest.

Everyone, I'm actually in a big boy business. I have an accountant and she's already given me advice to save me $240, I mean she'll cost way more than that, but at least I have a person I can talk to and not just screen to look at. Holy shit is this stuff expensive though! And my wife is being amazingly supportive and my biggest champion so far. I love you @dnpdame.

Who knew starting a business was so stressful? I have an absolute skeleton of a website set up now at btfree.org which references that absolutely WONDERFUL Fediverse explainer video from @Framasoft !

Meeting Monday night with some non-technical folks to start talking about the #Fediverse !

Welcome to #BTFree or #BigTechFree!

We just got notification that we are now officially a #Non-Profit #Corporation in #NorthCarolina!

We're still working on getting everything set up, so please don't mind the mess.

BT Free's goals are #privacy #rights, #advocacy, and #consulting, through #Fediverse services.

Next steps are as follows:

Get our main #website btfree.org set up and working with #Ghost . Get some better graphics for this #GoToSocial account. Then start working on setting up our first #Peertube at TubeFree.org and onboarding folks for a more #free #internet .

We will be accepting #donations in the future and while we're still figuring out how this will work we fully believe in donating back to projects and creators if we can. Still need to figure out how all the #tax stuff applies as this is my first #business .
