Revolt, A Discord Alternative

If you're looking for a Discord alternative that isn't Guilded, I highly recommend checking out Revolt! It's missing a few features that Discord has like forums, but I think most servers prefer to use the normal channels for their communities. I've never tried out their voice chat, so I can't really compare the two but if you're like me and want to try and branch out from big corporations Revolt is worth a chance. Revolt seems to be a good alternative to discord. I haven't gotten enough time to explore it but based on reviews, it's indeed a good choice too.

Would agree in that Revolt is higher up on the list for Discord alternatives. As Guilded continues to flounder and so far in 2025, there hasn't been much if anything announced for features or improvements. The staff have the appearances of being hamstrung or losing their interest with the community itself.

Guilded, I know even though I am not using it yet. I don't think I have heard of Revolt. I am old school guy who does not like to jump into the bandwagon too soon

I find Revolt's leaning towards community and decentralization quite interesting. Pretty much the fact that Revolt even came up is so liberating for me, given my anxiety over data privacy..

It's definitely cool! I'll check out Revolt I've been with Discord for years, but I'm always open to other platforms as well. One thing preventing me from switching in the first place is that all my friends and communities are already on Discord.

I've been giving more attention to Revolt lately. It's still early in spinning up an self-hosted instance but, it does check many of the boxes for a Discord like experience but more open sourced.
