@ozoned They already did, it's almost impossible in my town to find businesses that don't advertise, and it announces the location of major spots as I drive along.
It suggests detours through driveways, it can't do routing offline anymore, and downloading my whole state still doesn't allow fully offline access.

I mean, there's room to get worse, though.
