Repairing the charging error is on the easier side compared to other defects with the switch. I think a multimeter, soldering iron, a 3€ part(with shipping), steady hands some skill is needed.(capton tap, decent solder and flux)
You can get some help on the reswitched discord to pinpoint the faulty part. On switchbrew.org you can find board schematics and testpad locations and voltages.
