I just read the announcement on the Twitch blog that could completely change the game for many smaller streamers: What's Next in 2025

The big news? Starting in 2025, Twitch is opening up monetization tools like subscriptions and bits to MOST streamers from DAY ONE! No more grinding for weeks or months just to qualify for the Affiliate program.

This means we can start earning through direct support right away while building our communities. They're also introducing an option that lets ALL streamers use their earnings for purchases within Twitch.

I'm curious what everyone thinks about this:

    • How will this change your streaming strategy?
    • Do you think this will flood the platform with new creators?
    • For established streamers - are you concerned about increased competition or excited about the ecosystem growth?
    • Will ads be placed on these pre-affiliate channels?
    • Are channel points going to be unlocked for them?

Personally, I think this could be revolutionary for newcomers who've been struggling with the chicken-and-egg problem of growth vs. monetization but, I'm very hesitant in even though these smaller streamers have access to monetization. Will they receive any benefit from it?

    What's your take?
