The one thing that I have to give credit to Microsoft for, is that they know that the race to have the most hardware or the most software is extremely expensive and at times, won’t work. See that with their Office365 products being available just about everywhere. Now we’re going to see more of the Xbox ecosystem everywhere as well.

Microsoft announced yesterday that four Xbox-exclusive games are coming to PS5 and Nintendo Switch soon, opening up a new strategy for Xbox to be on more screens. Just two hours before Microsoft’s big announcement, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer explained the company’s new Xbox vision in an internal memo to employees. The Verge: Read Phil Spencer’s Microsoft memo on ‘Xbox everywhere’

I’ve played around with online Xbox Game Pass feature and it’s pretty stable for playing games over the internet. I was able to spin up Sea of Thieves through the Edge browser all the while on Linux Mint with an Xbox controller. Of course there were some stuttering here and there but, the overall experience was fine.

With the acquisition of Activision/Blizzard/King into the Xbox division of Microsoft, we’re already seeing that titles like Diablo 4 will be making its way to the Xbox Game Pass. There’s going to be more titles making there way to other platforms as well in the near future. Who knows, this might be the year gaming truly becomes available to all. No matter the platform.
