Maybe I could create an interview series on #TheFutureIsFederated about "People of the Fediverse" - doing Q&As with interesting people across fields...
@_elena This was almost exactly something I started to set up a few months back, using funkwhale, before abandoning it.
People just geeking out about stuff that interests them, with a gentle "presenter" not getting in the way, and just guiding the conversation a bit.
I got distracted didn't end up finishing it, so yes, you should absolutely do this!

@neil aw! yes time is always an issue, I hear you.
And because I generally have ZERO free time, I would do this over email ––– no time to edit audio or video for me

@_elena @neil are you following #FiresideFedi already? This is a very similar thing, available in video and audio formats. Very varied guests and discussions so far. In fact, @ozoned should probably line you both up as future participants…

I'm thinking of something different from the superb FiresideFedi.
WRITTEN interviews, short, 8 minutes reading time or less, exploring interesting people that post on the Fediverse (not its creators), across ages, professions, countries, etc.
A Humans of NY but for Fedi to show how varied and fascinating it can be

Everyone is unique and has such amazing stories. I'd absolutely read this! I of course might poach some folks as well afterwards. And thanks for the suggestion Andy about neil! I'll definitely reach out and Elena and I have already been scheming in the background to talk in the future.

"Necessity is the mother of invention" is what is behind this idea.
On April 28th I will begin hosting 2 film interns and we'll immediately dive into production of a couple of videos promoting the Fediverse.
My already limited free time will be reduced to 0, so I need to find another way to publish Fediverse blog posts... but not 2k articles that take 3 days to write. So an interview series with the same blueprint will make my writing life so much easier

@_elena @andypiper I love the sound of all of this. I had debated kicking around like 5-10 min interviews, but as much as I talk I could never get it done. I think I'm still going to do like a quick fire video, but it'll be something silly like I interview John Mastodon and just animate the Mastodon character.
