I just completed a move of our forums here to a new server and not only was it pretty easy to do but, was completely flawless. I know I had posted in that I would be spinning down the forum in the near future, I've changed my mind on this. The reasoning I was going with is that I hadn't seen a way to successfully move the forum or to convert it to another system elsewhere. After doing some research and planning, the forums here will remain open.
