History has this ability to constantly be repeating itself. No one ever learns from past mistakes and even more so with the doubling down. Take Meta (Facebook, Threads, Instagram) in bringing on a few new board members. One of them happens to be Dana White was recorded physically abusing his wife at a nightclub.
Now to be tossing out fact-checking even if it was flawed, to copying x/Twitter playbook of community notes. Bringing a more freeing speech element to their platforms while also limiting their employees speech in the name of having a more respectful environment.
The rules for employees, the internal content moderator responded, are different than the rules for the public: “The CEE, which is focused on mitigating the potential for disruption and allowing us the space to work, ensuring a respectful work environment, and protecting company information, is different from our external content policies.”
