Dropped our Amazon Prime a few months ago as it was easy to buy whatever we wanted and get it to our door the next day. Prime isn't all that useful as most times your items still take 2+ days to be delivered and with that it was an easy sale for the family to just wait if they needed to get items from Amazon to get the cart to the $35 limit for free shipping. I've been going to our local Ace Hardware for some small items that we need for any home repair things. For large sheet goods or lumber there's still Lowes and Home Depot but, I've been working on trying to find other sources for that is nearby. It just takes some time to go through in how you shop and try to find other sources for them.

@_elena honestly this is one of those things absolutely excited me about having kids. I was looking forward to the "why" questions. I know so many parents get annoyed, but I see it as an opportunity to learn more about the world as well and it's super exciting! Except when it's like:Don't play with the toilet!Why?Because it's dirty and gross from pee and poo!Why?Because you pee and poo in there!lol

@logan @collectifission @peertube That's why I recommend companies like @fedihost@mstdn.social. They're managing Peertube and Mastodon instances for a small fee. They're super reasonable. There is still a bit of work, but their page walks you through what you need to do and they have videos as well.

I don't get this shit. So much fucking misinformation. Wife's mother was telling her that there's a cure for Cancer, hospitals and doctors get kick backs for not using it. Wife is a nurse training to be a doctor and tells her that's bullshit. Can't change these people's minds.

@Remittancegirl Absolutely horrified and disgusted by this. I've reached out to my Federal #Representatives about this. They're all #Republican, because #NC #gerrymanders elections. My grandfather was in WW2 and literally fought against this garbage.
