LEARNING ABOUT FEDERATION AND ALL THIS BULLSHIT??? OMG THIS IS TOTALLY THE FUTURE OF SOME OF THE MOST INTERESTING PARTS OF THE INTERNET.but, im having a hard time fitting in i feel hehe~
alot of the friends ive shown this platform too has pretty much given up immediately, given tho i have stuck around for quite a bit longer. but im having a hard time really reaching out to new people let alone with the culture here. and i cant really find the sorts of people i would really want to find here, let alone i dont know how to get the people i want to follow me.this service is definitely fun dont get me wrong, the wafrn devs are really fucking funny and i appreciate the work on their client here.
but im definitely having quite a difficult time having FUN here. i feel like its partially my fault, but still i feel its incredibly hard to find people id want to follow at all.
the more i think "oh yeah i havent checked wafrn in a while! lets see whats happening" the i kind of dread forcing myself to scroll through so many posts im deeply uninterested in because im definitely not following the right people. and if i do i find myself thinking more and more "these arent my friends, these arent the people i care about"its really a "i cant be here if all my friends arent here, and my friends cant be here if all their friends arent here" all the way down, which is an issue with many social media platforms i want to try! (like matrix or other federated discord clones).
i want to use wafrn, i want to use the fediverse, god knows if i make a server im fucking using it. but as it stands for me right now the idea of the fediverse, the POTENTIAL of the fediverse is infinitely more fun than what stands for me today.
i want to keep using it, and ill try to follow it as closely as i can, but i dont think im going to continue actively forcing myself to use it hehe~ -
