What's a Skill You Wish Was Taught in School But Wasn't?

Beyond basics like taxes and budgeting, what life skill do you wish had been part of your formal education? I would have loved to learn basic home repairs. What about you?

They need to teach certain life skills in high school. Things like managing money, how to balance a check book, how to pay bills, etc. would be a good start.

I wish they taught personal finance. Money management is very important for life, yet they still do not teach it.

The school education system should add conflict resolution strategies and effective communication methods to their curriculum. If I had learned communication techniques for challenging situations and relationship development and dispute settlement I could have avoided much of my personal and work-related troubles.

@1stop This is a big one that I believe kids would learn so much from. There's a lot of pressure on these kids already with tests, social pressures, and from other kids that I think learning just a little bit more about how to navigate these skills. It would be a better atmosphere within schools in a very short time.

I think that's what's going on. They put so much pressure on standardized tests and whatnot that they forget that there are more important things. Like helping students learn something important that could help them on later in life.
