Ok, so I’m really excited—I figured out a way to get additional language subtitles on my English-speaking livestream recordings on MakerTube. I have to send it through an app that translates it all for me (MacWhisper), and it takes a bit of time so it can’t happen instantaneously, but it can happen.
I’m going to start with German and Spanish.
I’d really appreciate it if someone could ensure I’m actually doing it right…

The sad part of it all is that I can’t really do international sales. I’m just not set up to handle the VAT tax implications nor potential tariff crap... It’s bigger than me and I’m still small potatoes, so it’s probably not going to happen anytime soon.
So doing this won’t ever be about growing my reach to ultimately make money.
I just see a lot of videos by international uploaders that I can’t watch because I’m an ignorant American who never learned multiple languages… And I want to make sure I’m doing something—ANYthing, even this little thing!!-- to help mitigate that potential happening to others on my end.
It would take me months to get translations on all my livestreams (I have 340 vids on MakerTube!!) so all I can do is my best to slowly work backwards in my spare time once in a while. But from here on out, I’m going to make this happen on all my new vids.
Any other languages you all think I should do?

@Coreyartus i looked the spanish subtitles and they actually look good! Any additional comment I will tell you but so far the translation is of good quality, commas and accents on vocals are spot on.

@eseuve That is good! Thank you thank you thank you!! Whew! Can you tell me if it's translating as Latin American Spanish or European Spanish? They're listed differently on PeerTube, and I'm supposed to make a choice, but I'm not sure which one Apple is translating to...
