I'm thinking of excluding AI generated content explicitly in the terms of MakerTube. Background is that more and more generated content is uploaded and frankly resources are to sparse and costly to host this crap. What do you think? #peertube #makertube #terms #ai

@MakerTube
Can agree, with the exception of videos that only use it as a partial tool, such as video essays that occasionally use an ai image for filling in a scene, or other such usage that isn't CORE to the video. -

@MakerTube I'm all for it. But how would you do it?

@MakerTube Many text-based fora forbid low-effort posts as a way of improving the quality of conversations. It seems entirely reasonable that you could follow that precedent.

@MakerTube a reasonable decision.

@MakerTube Yes Yes Yes!! Exclude it, please! I think it’s perfectly logical for a Maker-oriented platform to require vids about actual humans making things!! In my opinion, it’s an awesome decision!

@MakerTube
Do it. And good luck!

@robparsons it’s not about being super strict. Like it works now, people report stuff or channels that are annoying and get my attention.

@MakerTube agreed. It’s for people who make stuff. Not computers who make stuff.

@MakerTube Good idea. AI generated content is not art and it's stolen from real artists.

@MakerTube Added clarification in DM, but yea I'd be OK with a No Gen AI policy. I used to however get a bunch of anti-trans people accuse people using Drawing Tablets and Krita as "using AI".
To me its fairly clear when AI is being used. Also what about people like me that do speedpaints or music videos?

@lwflouisa I guess there is no relation. For me this is about completely AI generated (music) videos and people being annoying by faking view counts, likes and comments to up-vote stuff.
